arranger, editor, 1926-1929 studied at Tbilisi University, 1929 moved to Moscow, 1934-1936 assistant director of theatres and of the studio of the Bolshoi Theatre, he arranged many suites from theatre and film music of Shostakovich, transcriptions for piano 4 hands from 2 symphonies of Shostakovich and on the personal request of Sergey Prokofyev he made piano transcriptions of almost all Prokofyev's symphonies, operas and ballets
